How does the Bhurban mountain estate serve Pakistan's consumer internet sector?
The product leadership offsite: the consumer internet company's CPO, design lead, and senior PMs at 2 villas — the 48-hour product strategy sprint that the Islamabad office never creates space for. The cross-functional team retreat: the product, engineering, and growth teams at the full cedar estate — the quarterly cross-functional alignment that conference rooms cannot replicate.
Pakistan's Consumer Internet — The Digital Products Mountain Sprint
Pakistan's consumer internet sector — the e-commerce platforms (Daraz, Yayvo), the ride-hailing companies (InDrive, Careem), the food delivery platforms (Foodpanda, Cheetay), the OTT content platforms, and the digital media companies reaching Pakistan's growing internet user base — builds products for a market that is growing at 15-20% annually.
The consumer internet product team's specific challenge: the product is live, the users are active, and the pressure to optimise the existing product never creates the space to think about the next product. The product sprint that needs 48 hours of protected space — the new vertical, the market expansion strategy, the UX redesign that the A/B testing cadence has been delaying — finds that space in the mountain cedar estate.
